Weds Sport, a Japanese performance rim manufacturer had created this one piece, complete carbon fiber rim that weighs in at an impossible 2.76kg per piece, costing an estimated $8000 - $12000 per piece, is most suitable for individuals that never know or seen what potholes are or what do they do.
Another display by Weds Sport was perhaps a more practical (durable, heavier, cheaper) alternative. We're not really sure yet the 'stronger than metal' carbon fiber material is any good at dealing with heavy impacts, we're not very sure if carbon fiber rims could absorb all the energy exerted from potholes or curbs that would generally cause our alloys to bend or dent.
